Free money from the government

Every country’s government each year spends a good deal of money to support those in needs, this money is given away for free to those who require it for some or the other reason. Every year approximately billions of dollars are shed away for free by the government and this money is not to be returned back or paid off, thus they are known as grants. Since the government gives away these grants hence they are better known as government grants.

Currently the government of USA is running fourteen hundred federal programs, twenty four thousand state programs, thirty thousand private foundations and twenty thousand scholarship programs, the total would sum up to around thirty million dollars of grant, which would not only be given by the government but that these grants are interest free, non-taxable and never to be repaid back.

Let us now see some of the grants that the federal government provides and how it helps local people. The first one is the government grant for personal needs. Well the grant name in itself clears all doubt, so the grant is all about personal need, you need to pay off your debts, or pay your medical bills, pay your rents or rent a new house, pay for your or your child’s education, repair your house, renew any license or just need money for an emergency that might have arisen, the federal government is ready to help you out by providing you a personal need grant. All you have to do is visit your state or central office, look up for the information on how to apply for the grant, collect the required forms from the government office – fill it up and deposit the same back in the same office along with a detailed letter about your need and the relevant documents as required while submitting the grant application form, remember a grant can range from five hundred dollars to fifty thousand dollars and how much grant money would be sanctioned to you solely depends on the decision of the authorities.

Next comes the business grant, again the name clears the concept of the grant, this grant is applied by small business houses, whether you want to open up a new business or want to revamp and expand your existing business, you should file for a business grant. When applying for such a grant, make sure you clearly state the details of the business, how much revenue you are aiming at. Many times this grant is clubbed with small business loans with very low interest rates.

Then you will also apply for a scholarship or education grant, which is meant for helping students financially. Further education, higher education or education of your children(s) whatever be the scenario, the government is ready to help you come over the financial mountain connected to the paths of education. You would be also amazed to know that not only the government but many educational institutions as well as salvation army has a wing to provide financial aid to low income families or students to get them proper education.

To name a few more grants provided by the government, you can look for social security grant, which are designed for those living on their social security, specially the old and aged. Then we have the single mom grant which is very famous between single mothers, as it is very difficult to run a household and simultaneously raise your kids with good facility in this growing economy. Then we have the EBT under the SNAP program where low income families are given some credits on their EBT Card which can be used only to purchase food related items from the retail market or local grocery store.

All the above are free money from the government given away in a fashion each year to thousands of local public who are in need of such financial aid, thus this free money from the government is a help in disguise to all of them which helps them to ease out their daily living.

I need help financially

People Willing to help financially

Globally financially helps are given by various sources to the needy and poor people. Some of the helping hands are as under:

Rich Individuals having allocable surplus of wealth give away help to the needy. They gather wealth either due to their successful conducting of their business or due to inheritance of wealth from their forefathers. They know the value of money and they extend valuable support to the needy people to come out of their poverty.

The mode of help differs from person to person. Some prefer to the known people such as close to the family. In some cases of an extended family some members may not settled financially and need help. They help to these categories. Some help to the people who are recommended by friends, relatives, close by people etc.

Some wealthy people give money on charity. In this case they have to select the people to receive the financial aid.

Organizations with prime aim of charitable help extend help to the needy. Their way of helping may be different. Some prefer to publish on internet, newspapers etc. to enable the needy to apply for the same. Others simply depend upon educational institutions when they spend their quantum of charitable amount to the educational expenses to the needy students. Some convert a portion of the amount to scholarship to meritorious students to cover their educational expenses. This is an indirect help they provide to needy families. They later on claim the income tax rebate for the amount spent on donations. This is a mutual interest transaction.

Missionary Activities – Missionary activities are normally organized by religious communities. They choose needy people from the same community or across the society. Their choice mainly depends upon the decision of the head of the community who is entrusted with power to disburse money. At the time of global tragedy they are the first people to come forward to help the affected people. They collect the amount from wealthy people, own contribution etc.

Current Trend of seeking financial help

In advanced countries citizens depend upon digital form for their financial activities and the amount is stored virtually and gets it transferred instantaneously. In addition to cost savings, digital financial services offer lot of benefits such as –

They connect poor people to the formal financial sector and enable them to become customers and suppliers within the wider economy and financial flows can be accurately tracked, resulting in safer and speedier transactions and less corruption and theft.

Providers can use financial histories to develop products that are better suited to customers’ needs, cash flow, and risk profiles, including fee-for-service offerings and smaller-unit transactions.

Direct deposits (including wages and government assistance) allow money to “bypass” the home, helping users save rather than spend and often giving women more financial authority within the family.

Financial Help for Women

Women, in whatever capacity they are – may be in the capacity of single, divorced, housewife, student etc, and need financial help to sustain in their capacity.

Her life is turned upside down — nearly everything about her existence changes, but for the man, the most he has to change is his phone number and address.  Most women who left the workforce to raise a family are at a significant disadvantage and find it difficult as they try to re-enter the workforce they left years earlier.  I don’t have marriage advice, but if you do a few simple things in the other 8 hours, you can survive a divorce and get back on your feet as quickly as possible.

I’ve been thinking a lot about my own experience growing up in a single parent home (my mom raised five kids after my father left) recently because a very good friend of mine and her two young boys were just abandoned. One day they were a family and the next her husband was leaving her for another woman.   She is now struggling to survive.  Not only is she trying to deal with the emotions of the situation, but she has to raise her two boys and find a way to pay the mortgage.

So, what must women do to protect themselves and their family? I’m glad you asked… Let´s talk about Financial help for women :

1. Stay connected socially. Your social network is your life-line in a divorce. You must have a network of friends you can call on for help — a place you can stay while you and your family get back on your feet or someone to look after your children while you interview. If you go to church/temple, consider getting involved in small groups so you can extend and deepen your support network.

2. Stay connected professionally. Don’t quit your network when you quit your job. Make sure your professional network grows, or at the very least, remains stable. A really efficient way to stay connected is to set up a meeting with two or three others in your network once or twice a month.  You should also communicate at least once a month with every person in your professional network.  Phone calls are best, but you can also ping them with a short email or note.

3. Keep up your skills.  Mothers, and new mothers especially, have very little “free time,” but keeping your skills up is critical.  Invest the other 8 hours to keep your licenses and/or credentials up to date.  You could also take a night class at your local community college.  This furthers your knowledge and gives you a chance to network with professors (who are usually practitioners in your field by day) and other students.

4. Know your finances.  This is a biggie girl. Don’t leave it to your husband to handle everything.  Schedule a “financial date” with your husband once a month to review credit card statements, investment accounts, and your budget.  There are several EASY programs you can use to get a quick snapshot of your financial health.

5. Create a side business. One of the best ways to protect your family and earn some extra money is to start a side business in the other 8 hours. You could turn your hobby into a money-making business, start a blog, or invent something.
